10 Days Devo - Day 8: Longing for Transforming Revival in Our Communities

Day 8: Longing forTransforming Revival in Our Communities

Draw near to God and he will draw near to you” James 4:8

What would it take to see a move of God initiated and sustained in a geographic area?  George Otis Jr., in researching many cities and regions of the world that have experienced transforming revival describes it this way:

In short, a transformed community is…

10 Days Devotional - Day 7: Intercession: Hope for America

Day 7: Intercession: Hope for America

"But thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.  For we are the aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing…" 2 Corinthians 2:14 (ESV)

10 Days Devotional - Day 6: Intercession for the Unreached

Day 6: Intercession for the Unreached

“After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” Revelation 7:9-10

10 Days Devotional - Day 5: Intercession: Jesus’ New Commandment

Day 5: Intercession: Jesus’ New Commandment

“My children, I will be with you only a little longer.” “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Excerpts John 13:33-35 NIV

How clear and dear to the heart of our Lord Jesus were the words he first spoke to his disciples after announcing he was leaving them! Earlier in the evening, he had declared the long promised New Covenant (Jeremiah 31:31), sealed by his blood (Luke 22:20).

10 Days Devotional - Day 4: Repentance: Awakening the Sleeping Giant

Day 4: Repentance: Awakening the Sleeping Giant

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Heb. 12:1 NIV

Several years ago, while preparing for the 10 Days in Boston, God gave us powerful picture in prayer.

10 Days Devotional - Day 3: Repentance as Returning to Intimacy

Jesus said, “....You have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary. Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.  Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place—unless you repent’“ Rev. 2:3-5  (NKJV)

10 Days Devotional - Day 2: Repenting from Unbelief

Day 2: Repenting from Unbelief

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1

Today we are going to talk about repentance.  Honestly, I think many people think that repentance is the “noble attempt in your own strength to try to be different.”  Really, that kind of “repentance” is a deep, practical disbelief in the goodness of God, in His Father love, and God’s desire to meet every need--physical, emotional, and spiritual.

10 Days Devotional - Day 1: God's Grand Masterpiece

Day 1: God’s Grand Masterpiece

From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. (Ephesians 4:16)

We all affirm Christian unity – but sometimes it’s difficult to imagine exactly what it is.

In my time of prayer the other day, Jesus showed me that the body of Christ is like God’s grand orchestra performing a symphony. In fact, our English word “symphony” comes from a Greek word meaning a “sounding together.”

10 Days starts next week!

It’s hard to believe that 10 Days begins in eight days!  Christians all over America will be coming together within their cities for a set-apart time of worship, fasting, and prayer.

Last Tuesday, we had a conference call with coordinators from 9 differnt regions. Jaime Dicke took notes on the call so that others would be able to “listen in”. Here’s a little glimpse into what’s happening in various cities as we approach 10 Days.

10 Days partners with 40 Days of Hope

Dear Friends,

This Friday, our family welcomed a new baby boy, Phineas Mark. Phineas is our 6th child and we now have 3 daughters and 3 sons to even things out.  As any parent knows, the first weeks after birth are all about survival so our family and our 10 Days team is feeling a bit stretched. It’s so good to remember that God isn’t afraid of our weaknesses, in fact He works through them! Here’s a quick update on what’s happening from sea to shining sea:
