Is the Great Commission about to be Fulfilled?

Global Partnerships in Prayer and Missions:

For the past five or six years, we have been partnering with International Prayer Connect and with many other groups to unite the global praying church. These partnerships have been expressed in many ways, including the Global Family 24/7 Prayer Room. As part of these partnerships, we have been collaborating with a number of large house-church movements in prayer as they attempt to bring the gospel to the 110 large cities. These cities are being targeted for prayer because 90% of people groups who have never heard the gospel live in these cities. https://110cities.com/.

You may have noticed that the 10 Days prayer guides for the past three years have all featured the 110 Cities prayer focus. You've likely prayed for a people group, city, or nation that you know very little about as part of this effort. The goal is simple, but also historic: To combine prayer with missions so that the great commission Jesus gave us 2,000 years ago, to make disciples of every nation, tribe, and language, can be fulfilled for the first time in history. 10 Days is, of course, just one small part of this global chorus of prayer.

The Impact of Our Prayers in Global Harvest

Some prayers we can see answered right in front of us. However, when you're praying for salvations to take place in cities across the globe, it is not as easy to see the impact. That's why I wanted to share with you the following from IPC's "Report on the Global Harvest, 2021-2025"

"The results of these collaborative prayer-fueled movements have been astounding:

  • During these last five years, these underground house churches have grown at a rate of over 22 percent each year – now at 8.4 million house churches – 154 million Jesus followers among 190 nations and speaking 2,554 languages. As we have been praying, God is opening a door for the Gospel in the hearts of everyone, everywhere!

  • As we have been praying, new believers are being discipled among many nations, the church is growing and being strengthened. As Jesus proclaimed, “the gates of Hades will not prevail.” (Matthew 16:18)

  • This year, 2025, 96,000 newly trained workers entrusted themselves to the leadership of the Lord and were sent to new regions to prayer walk cities and share the Gospel of the Kingdom. God has been responding to our prayers, “Lord of the Harvest send forth laborers to the harvest fields in the nations.” • And the work has been at great cost – over 1900 martyrs in one of our partners’ family of movements alone, in 2025.

  • Through much prayer, boldness, surrender and sacrifice, the Lord has been releasing His power through an increase of signs, wonders and miracles among some of the least reached peoples on the earth today! During the Global Day of Prayer for the Muslim world, the Lord came powerfully in an area in the Middle East. During a gathering of tribal leaders, refugees, and families, one of the leaders with great boldness shared that the only way to peace in the Middle East is through Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace. After sharing the Gospel and answering questions for several hours, over 8,000 of these former Muslim leaders became Jesus followers!"

Our Prayers and the Fulfillment of the Great Commission

While our prayers often feel small and weak, God is using them to bring about His plans and purposes. He is using the weak things of this world to shame the wise. We are living in an incredible historic moment. If you've been looking for a "billion soul harvest", I'd submit to you, we are living in it now. I believe we are likely to see the fulfillment of the Great Commission for the first time in history in the next five to ten years, twenty at most.

All that to say, your prayers are having an impact. The partnership between prayer and missions is bearing incredible fruit. Let's keep praying, "Lord of the Harvest, send forth laborers into the harvest field." The Lord is hearing our prayers.
